Paulissen is a member of the Space City Cruisers Auto Club. He is a former member of the North Galveston County Chamber of Commerce, having served as its president in 1994, and was named Red Coat Ambassador of the year twice. Now active in the League City Chamber of Commerce, he has served as Chairman of the Ambassador group and worked on numerous other committees. He was named Chamber Ambassador of the year in 2003.

Paulissen owns a newsletter publishing company. His wife Ann is Controller for Munez Engineering (MEI). They have two sons, Matthew 23, attends University of Houston, and Michael 17, is a junior at Clear Creek High School. The Paulissens have been members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church since 1997.

“During all my years of civic involvement in both League City and Dickinson, I have witnessed tremendous growth, and am seeing a lot more of it knocking on our door! We are facing many problems and expenses to accommodate new development and we must determine how to pay for it.

We have critical decisions to be made now, and we must conservatively address the future for all of League City and maintain fairness for everyone: old and new residents alike.” Said Paulissen. “It’s time for me to put my experience, strengths, and determination to work for League City!”
